ARMMC Radiology Department Renovation

In 2008, KDA Design Arch was commissioned to lead the interior architecture renovation of the Radiology Department at Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center (ARMMC). This milestone project, in collaboration with Himex Corporation, marked the first interior project of our principal architect as a registered and licensed professional.

The renovation was driven by the installation of new radiology equipment, requiring not only updated spaces but also an environment that reflects functionality, efficiency, and patient comfort.

Patient-Centered Interior Design
From the welcoming lobby and waiting area to the information counters and consultation rooms, every detail was designed with patients’ well-being in mind. Warm finishes, natural textures, and soft lighting were carefully chosen to reduce the stress often associated with medical visits. The waiting area provides comfortable seating, while clear wayfinding elements improve accessibility.

Functional Medical Spaces
The cashier and information counters were designed for efficiency, featuring ergonomic layouts that streamline staff workflow while ensuring patient privacy and convenience. Inside the diagnostic areas, including the CT scan and ultrasound rooms, the interiors were planned to accommodate state-of-the-art radiology equipment while maintaining compliance with hospital safety and technical standards.

Balance of Technology and Healing Environment
By combining modern medical technology with thoughtful interior architecture, the project created a space where patients feel reassured and medical professionals can work efficiently. The design showcases how healthcare interiors can go beyond sterile aesthetics to become places of comfort, healing, and trust.
