The CE Duplex Residence was conceived as a premium duplex housing development that reimagines urban living within the established neighborhood of St. Ignatius Village, Quezon City. Developed as a concept proposal, the design explores how two independent residences can coexist within a single architectural composition while maintaining privacy, functionality, and a refined residential character.

Designed as a three-storey duplex, the project embraces a contemporary tropical architectural language expressed through clean geometric forms, expansive roof overhangs, natural stone cladding, warm wood accents, and generous glazing. These elements work together to create a timeless aesthetic while responding to the Philippine climate through passive shading, natural ventilation, and abundant daylight.

Each residence is envisioned to provide spacious living environments that cater to modern family lifestyles. The layout prioritizes seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces, with open-plan living and dining areas, well-appointed private bedrooms, integrated service spaces, and elevated outdoor terraces that extend the living experience beyond the interior. Dedicated two-car garages and thoughtfully designed landscape buffers reinforce both convenience and privacy for each household.

The massing strategy carefully balances symmetry and individuality. While the duplex presents a unified architectural identity from the street, subtle variations in façade composition and outdoor spaces establish a sense of ownership for each residence. The resulting streetscape contributes positively to the upscale residential character of the community while maximizing the development potential of the site.

Sustainability was considered throughout the conceptual design by incorporating wide roof eaves, shaded outdoor areas, strategically positioned openings for cross-ventilation, and durable, low-maintenance exterior materials suited to the tropical environment. These passive design principles enhance occupant comfort while reducing long-term operational demands.

Although the project remained at the conceptual proposal stage, the CE Duplex Residence demonstrates KDA Design + Architecture's approach to creating high-value residential developments that balance architectural elegance, spatial efficiency, and environmental responsiveness. The proposal reflects the firm's commitment to designing homes that are functional, enduring, and thoughtfully integrated into their urban context.
