MGM Office

Designed for MGM Chemical Industry in Pasig City, the MGM Office is a compact four-level workplace composed of a ground floor, mezzanine, second floor, and third floor within the client's existing industrial compound. With a total floor area of approximately 215 square meters, the project demonstrates how thoughtful architectural planning can transform a limited footprint into a highly efficient and contemporary office environment that supports both administrative operations and employee welfare.

The design responds to the realities of an industrial setting by creating a clear separation between operational support spaces and corporate functions. The ground floor accommodates employee-oriented facilities, including a waiting area, mess hall, kitchen, locker area, powder room, and guard post, while the mezzanine serves as dedicated storage for returned goods and office supplies. The second floor houses the administration and finance departments with supporting amenities, while the third floor is dedicated to the marketing department and a conference lounge for meetings and client presentations. This vertical organization maximizes the site's limited footprint while promoting an efficient workflow between departments.

Architecturally, the building embraces a contemporary industrial aesthetic characterized by clean geometric forms, exposed structural expression, and a façade designed for both visual impact and environmental performance. Vertical aluminum fins and horizontal screening elements create a dynamic rhythm across the elevation while serving as passive sun-shading devices. Integrated planter boxes and a living green wall soften the building's industrial character, introducing natural elements that enhance the workplace environment and establish a distinctive corporate identity.

Natural light and ventilation were central considerations throughout the design. Large glazed openings are protected by the external screening system, reducing solar heat gain while allowing generous daylight into the office interiors. This layered façade improves occupant comfort, minimizes glare, and contributes to the building's overall energy efficiency, making it well-suited to the tropical climate of the Philippines.

The MGM Office demonstrates KDA Design + Architecture's approach to designing efficient, sustainable, and visually refined workplaces. Despite its modest scale, the project establishes a strong architectural presence within the industrial compound, proving that functional office buildings can also become meaningful expressions of a company's identity, values, and commitment to a better working environment.
