RS Residence

RS Residence is a contemporary tropical home inspired by the timeless principles of Balinese architecture, thoughtfully adapted to the lifestyle and climate of a modern Filipino family. Designed as a two-storey residence, the project combines warmth, openness, and a strong connection to nature, creating a tranquil sanctuary within an urban residential setting.

Drawing inspiration from Balinese design, the residence emphasizes natural materials, deep roof overhangs, generous open spaces, and a seamless relationship between indoor and outdoor environments. Stone-clad walls, rich wood detailing, and expansive glazing establish a refined architectural character while evoking the warmth and craftsmanship often found in tropical resort residences. The carefully layered façade balances solidity and transparency, creating a welcoming yet elegant presence along the street.

The home's spatial planning was guided by the principles of comfort, family interaction, and environmental responsiveness. Large windows and strategically positioned openings maximize natural daylight and cross-ventilation, reducing dependence on artificial lighting and enhancing the overall living experience. Landscaped areas surrounding the residence further reinforce the connection between architecture and nature, a hallmark of Balinese-inspired design.

The ground floor accommodates the primary communal spaces, including the living, dining, and kitchen areas, together with support spaces and guest accommodations. These spaces flow naturally into one another, encouraging social interaction while maintaining a sense of openness and relaxation. The upper level houses the family's private quarters, providing comfort, privacy, and views of the surrounding landscape.
